ShinPark Duo 신미정, 박상욱

In 2013, Clara-Mijung Shin and Samuel-Sangwook Park founded the piano duo formation “ShinPark” in Vienna, and made their debut in the concert hall (MuTh) of the Vienna Boys‘ Choir.

Just a few weeks later, ShinPark won the 2nd prize at the Concorso Internazionale Pianistico „Roma“ 2013 (categories ‚Two Pianos‘ and ‚4 Hands‘).

The two pianists were born in 1980 (Shin) and 1990 (Park) in South Korea and already received piano lessons since early childhood.

Initially they studied piano independently at the University of Music and Performing Arts and (MDW) at the Vienna Conservatory (MUK) (under Prof. Roland Batik, Prof. Thomas Kreuzberger and Prof. Denise Benda (pianoduo).

After their graduation and the foundation of the duo they attended numerous master classes as a piano duo with renowned pianists, including Menahem Pressler, Paul Badura-Skoda and Daniel Barenboim.

Since 2015, the pianists are studying together pianoduo with Hans-Peter and Volker Stenzl at the Rostock University of Music and Theater and with Paul Badura-Skoda in Vienna.

In June 2015, the duet has been awarded the first prize in the category piano duo (four hands) at the International Piano Competition „Ischia“.

Concert tours took the duo on many stages in Europe, Asia and the USA.

The ShinPark Duo won the second prize at the prestigious International ARD Music Competition in Munich, where they performed with the Bayerischer Rundfunk Orchester under conductor Jun Märkl at Herkulessaal of Münchner Residenz.
